BCS Strategic Plan Summary 2021-2026

I am honored to present to you on behalf of our Blount County Schools team, our new five year strategic plan
for the 2021-2026 school years. This plan represents an honest look by our stakeholders or where we are as
a district, what we have accomplished, and where we want to be in the future. A special thank you to all who
have assisted in the development of our plan.

Foundational Literacy Plan

This Foundational Literacy Skills Plan has been approved by the Tennessee Department of Education
and meets the requirements of the Tennessee Literacy Success Act. All portions of the Foundational
Literacy Skills plan were submitted to the department and approved.



Free Breakfast & Lunch

FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
FOR ALL CHILDREN 18 YEARS OLD AND YOUNGER

No ID or income requirements needed. Children DO NOT have to be present in the vehicle to receive meals.

Blount County Schools Nutrition Department will be handing out free breakfast and lunch meals to anyone 18 years of age and younger.
Meals will be served May 24 - July 02, 2021 every Monday and Thursday. Each Monday you will receive meals for Monday - Wednesday.
Each Thursday you will receive meals for Thursday - Sunday. Meals will be distributed at the locations below between the hours of 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
Families can choose any of these locations but can only pick up at one location per distribution day.

NO meal pickup on Memorial day, Monday, May 31. Pickups for that week will be Tuesday and Thursday.

If your child is attending summer school, they will receive their meals each day during school hours.

Richard "Chipper" Wyatt - 1991 graduate of Heritage. He currently serves as the Construction Services Supervisor for the City of Alcoa.

Kathryn Ross - 2010 graduate of William Blount. Worked as junior animator for Mil Film in Montreal and is currently working with L'Atelier Animation in Montreal.

Jordan Marshall - graduate of William Blount. Jordan attended Georgia Tech and had the privilege to work at NASA. Jordan currently works at Blue Origin in Washington, an aerospace company.
